{"id":739235,"date":"2026-06-16T02:29:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T02:29:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/739235\/"},"modified":"2026-06-16T02:29:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T02:29:14","slug":"supercars-tv-news-remote-production-hub-to-debut-for-darwin-triple-crown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/739235\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars TV news: Remote production hub to debut for Darwin Triple Crown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SUPERCARS will introduce a major change to its in-house broadcast production model starting with this weekend\u2019s Darwin Triple Crown.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not as extreme a hub system as seen for a period in the Shannons SpeedSeries (and other some other sports) whereby commentators operate remotely.<\/p>\n<p>Rather, all television talent will be on the ground at Hidden Valley, with an array of behind-the-scenes personnel working from NEP\u2019s Andrews Hub in Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBasically, all the production staff that normally sit inside the OB (outside broadcast) van \u2013 so director, producer, pit producer, CCU (camera control unit), EVS (electronic video system) operators \u2013 they\u2019re now in a production gallery in Sydney,\u201d Supercars head of broadcast Nathan Prendergast explained to V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd all those feeds of all those things that they normally control and manipulate from site are actually sent by two discrete 10GB fibre parts back to Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo what it means is 32 percent of people will no longer travel and 68 percent of people still go to site.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/the-finish-line-garth-tander-autobiography-book?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/tander-finish-line_1024x1024.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That shift has two substantial benefits, according to Prendergast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt opens up greater production opportunities because the digital team now that are located in Sydney, they can see all these feeds coming into the gallery so it opens up a larger opportunity for content creation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a big cost-saving too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And Darwin is just the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>The Undercut \u2013 The Chevy Situation<\/p>\n<p>The Undercut is back, breaking down the latest happenings in the world of Supercars racing!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTen of the 14 venues (on the current calendar) will be connected by the end of this year,\u201d said Prendergast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree or four are already done, but the rest will be complete as the championship rolls out.
