FROM winning the first two teams\u2019 championships on offer in Super2 to leading out of Round 1 last year, Eggleston Motorsport\u2019s\u00a0dry spell\u00a0has come as something of a surprise.<\/p>\n

The team responsible for Paul Dumbrell\u2019s 2014 title triumph and Kai Allen<\/a>\u2019s nine years later has slipped into a 12-race winless run during which time Tickford Autosport has taken over the mantle as the benchmark operation.<\/p>\n

But as much as the Egglestons aren\u2019t content with middling results, there is a perfectly reasonable explanation behind the ongoing rebuild.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think whenever you make a wholesale change to your driver line-up, like what happened last year, there\u2019s always going to be a period where everybody has to find their feet,\u201d team co-owner Rachael Eggleston told V8 Sleuth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

EMS\u2019 2024 campaign revolved around the quartet of Allen, Cooper Murray<\/a>, Cameron Crick<\/a> and Jordyn Sinni<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The latter was the only incumbent still around in \u201925, as Zach Bates<\/a>, Cody Burcher<\/a>, Bradi Owen<\/a> and Elliott Cleary<\/a> all came aboard.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t expect to necessarily always stay where you are when you have such significant change,\u201d Eggleston continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur program has\u00a0only continued to improve\u00a0\u2013 we have got excellent people,\u00a0hugely respected engineers, the cars roll out spot on\u00a0\u2013 things just take time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess you can liken it to an AFL team when they get a younger\u00a0or less experienced\u00a0list and you have got to work your way through that process\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody is quick to go \u2018they\u2019re nowhere anymore\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAs frustrating as it can be at times when you\u2019re not on top regularly, we know what it takes and the process to be followed. \u00a0We have done it successfully before and we will return to the pointy end of the grid. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSydney (Round 1) was very average by our standards and we are certainly not intending to see a repeat of that.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think there was also some positives, like Bradi Owen I was really impressed with\u2026 he dug within himself\u00a0after a disappointing Saturday\u00a0and came out and did an awesome job on the Sunday. We were so stoked with that, for him, for everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

EMS will stick with four cars for Round 2 this weekend in Darwin, but may yet expand to five at some point later this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cGenerally it has got to be part of a bigger picture if you\u2019re not doing the full season, whether that be preparing for 2027 or enduros or whatever,\u201d said Eggleston.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s still a few things to work through but ideally we\u2019ll have five at some events.\u201d<\/p>\n
