Ten singles, two houses, and a chance to meet the one.

Dubbed “Australia’s Newest Dating Series”, Perth-based matchmaking series 1ROSE has put a casting call out to singles nationwide ahead of its most exciting concept yet.

Following interest in 1ROSE’s The Debate online episodes, street interviews, and expanded singles events, the series’ latest venture will be presented in a format reality TV fans might be familiar with.

Hosted by MAFS favourite Billy Belcher, as well as local personalities Amy Priya and Demi Barry, the show will invite five men into one house, and five women into another house, where singles of the same sex will spend time getting to know one another.

Then, all men and women will be invited to mingle together in a studio where they will play games, discover each other’s dating do’s and dont’s, and even win cash, before ultimately handing a rose to another single they feel a connection with.

However, there is no guarantee each rose will be reciprocated.

Casting is open to participants across the country, but will be filmed in Perth and promote Western Australia.

1ROSE producers understand the city’s dating scene can feel frustrating or overwhelming at times, and hope to provide a pathway to finding love that cuts through the bulls..t.

“No one’s really committed these days, it’s got to a point where everyone’s sort of confused, has too many options or is all over the place,” they told PerthNow.

“With 1ROSE, we wanted to create a series where contestants aren’t locked into anything. Guys and girls equally hold a rose, and if it’s reciprocated, you move on to a second date together. No long-term commitment forced on you for weeks if it’s not the right match.”

The show’s carefully-crafted mechanics and curve balls are designed to get sparks flying, with “a few twists” promising to keep contestants engaged.

In 2025, 1ROSE brought 16 singles together in a similar concept that was well-received by participants.

With places still up for grabs in the forthcoming edition, it’s not too late for unlucky-in-love men and women across the country to apply.

“Most dating shows are over east but we love WA, so we’re keeping the series right here. Singles from all around Australia are welcome to apply and find love in WA,” producers added.

1ROSE’s latest dating concept will be broadcast on YouTube later this year.

Ten singles, two houses, and a chance to meet the one.
