Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is shifting to Nike. <\/p>\n

The company confirmed Tuesday that it has officially added the Oklahoma City Thunder star as a Signature Swoosh athlete after he teased the move in an Instagram video.<\/p>\n

“We are thrilled to welcome Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to the Nike Basketball signature family,” Nike said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Coming after back-to-back MVP seasons, we are excited to build on Shai’s incredible impact with Converse as one of the most creative leaders in the game.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gilgeous-Alexander had been with Converse<\/a> since 2020. The company is owned by Nike.<\/p>\n

He eventually\u00a0signed<\/a>\u00a0a new endorsement deal with Converse in 2024, as he was also named creative director of Converse basketball.<\/p>\n

Gilgeous-Alexander’s first signature shoe, the Shai 001, was\u00a0unveiled<\/a>\u00a0in Feb. 2025.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old has blossomed into one of the NBA’s top players since first signing with Converse. He earned MVP honors during his 2024-25 campaign and helped lead the Thunder to a championship before receiving his second straight MVP award last season.<\/p>\n

Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 31.1 points, 6.6 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 55.3 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from three-point territory during his 2025-26 campaign.<\/p>\n

The Thunder advanced to the Western Conference Finals this year, as the four-time All-Star averaged 27.6 points per game on 46.3\/30.5\/89.2 shooting splits in 15 postseason appearances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is shifting to Nike.
