Team&#8217;s can bid draft selections to land targeted prospects. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-6\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7e\">In a recent list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/draft\/onsi\/news\/five-nfl-teams-that-need-brendan-sorsby-more-than-they-realize-in-the-supplemental-draft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">five NFL teams<\/a> that need to land the 22-year-old, draft analyst Justin Melo listed the Lions, along with the Buccaneers, Colts, Jets and Cardinals. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-7\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7h\">As NFL Draft On SI explained, &#8220;The Detroit Lions are another organization that are an underrated possibility to be in quarterback limbo. They&#8217;ve felt like annual contenders since Jared Goff&#8217;s arrival, but haven&#8217;t got the job done. After missing the postseason altogether in 2025, Goff and the Lions should be under\u00a0intense pressure to enjoy a bounce-back campaign.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-9\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7o\">Detroit made the decision to sign Luke Altmeyer as an undrafted free agent. He was praised by the coaching staff for his ability to grasp Drew Petzing&#8217;s offense rather quickly. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-10\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7r\">&#8220;Goff is under contract through 2028, but acquiring a young backup wouldn&#8217;t be a bad idea,&#8221; writes Melo. &#8220;Right now, Goff is supported by 33-year-old Teddy Bridgewater and\u00a0undrafted rookie quarterback Luke Altmyer. Sorsby would make sense.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-11\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7u\">Scouts and evaluators have praised Sorsby for his athleticism, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/lions\/onsi\/biggest-takeaways-from-day-1-detroit-lions-2026-mandatory-minicamp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">his strong arm<\/a> and ability to make plays moving his feet. <\/p>\n<p id=\"inline-text-12\" class=\"my-[18px] [&amp;_a]:text-primary my-f-1.5\" q:key=\"0\" q:id=\"7x\">At 6&#8217;3, he has been applauded for his arm, accuracy, his play-making abilities and for his strong throws when scrambling outside of the pocket.
