{"id":743159,"date":"2026-06-17T22:17:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-17T22:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/743159\/"},"modified":"2026-06-17T22:17:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T22:17:11","slug":"liam-lawson-outlines-key-area-for-racing-bulls-to-improve-in-f1-midfield-battle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/743159\/","title":{"rendered":"Liam Lawson outlines key area for Racing Bulls to improve in F1 midfield battle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Liam Lawson\u00a0is aiming to consolidate Racing Bull\u2019s position as midfield leader following a double points-scoring finish for the team at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/series\/single-seater\/formula-1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Formula 1<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.formula1.com\/en\/racing\/2026\/barcelona-catalunya\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lawson and Racing Bulls enjoyed a competitive showing in Spain, with both cars finishing in the points.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kiwi and rookie teammate Arvid Lindblad have begun the season in fine form, with the former sitting 10th in the Drivers\u2019 Championship standings, after making Barcelona his fifth points finish in the seven races completed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the sport\u2019s new technical regulations causing some shifts in teams\u2019 competitiveness across the grid, Racing Bulls looks once again to be in contention for being the best of the midfield.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Alpine currently being its most serious contender in that regard, Lawson acknowledged its strengths but conveyed his hope that the Faenza-based squad will continue to show its own strengths across the remaining Grands Prix, as well as improving its race pace.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Liam-Lawson-F1-Barcelona-GP-1-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"Liam Lawson scored another points finish in Spain\" class=\"wp-image-249318\"  \/>Liam Lawson scored another points finish in Spain<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYeah, for us it\u2019s good,\u201d Lawson said. \u201cIt\u2019s a long season; we have a lot of races to go.
