target=\"_blank\">BROC Feeney<\/a> admits to having mixed feelings about the new driver cooling rules that could be triggered at this weekend\u2019s Darwin Triple Crown.<\/p>\n<p>Supercars last month mandated that, on days where the local ambient temperature is forecast to exceed 32.9 degrees, it will monitor that cool suit and helmet air systems are operating below 25 degrees. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/supercars-warning-over-new-driver-cooling-rules\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">has warned that cars could be forced to retire<\/a> if such protocols are not satisfied.<\/p>\n<p>Feeney was one of three drivers to notably suffer from overheating during the Sunday Sydney race back in February, along with teammate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1292-Will-Brown\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Will Brown<\/a> and Team 18\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-5-David-Reynolds\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Reynolds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>MORE: <a Red Bull Ampol driver noted that in the aftermath several people including medical experts had reached out to advise of the associated risks to long-term health.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/the-finish-line-garth-tander-autobiography-book?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/tander-finish-line_1024x1024.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s for that reason Feeney certainly understands why the regulations are being introduced, though he can\u2019t help but fear the impact it could have from a competitive standpoint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI must say, with this rule now, it is a worry,\u201d the championship leader said via MotorRacing 360.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat happens if you get into a race and it stops working for a few laps and you trickle over that number (i.e. 25 degrees for cool suit\/helmet air) and they black flag you?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d rather just cop the pain than a black flag to be honest, but that\u2019s the way it goes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He later reiterated: \u201cIf something goes wrong, we\u2019re going to miss out on a lot of points.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maximum temperatures this weekend in Darwin are predicted to
