Dane Coles is back in the real world of rugby, and it\u2019s exactly as loose as you\u2019d expect.<\/p>\n
The former All Black is now coaching at his old club Paraparaumu, juggling grassroots footy, a bit of work on the tools and helping out with New Zealand Rugby. It\u2019s a long way from test match environments and the difference hits pretty quickly.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ve got plan A, B, C\u2026 you turn up game day, it’s plans E, F, G.\u201d Coles joked with Sport Nation’s Millsy & Guy.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou get the old danger hour from 5.30 to 6.30 where people find an excuse not to train.\u201d<\/p>\n
Away from club land, Coles has been watching the Hurricanes\u2019 run closely, and it\u2019s brought back a few memories of 2016.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just more excitement I reckon\u2026 just really proud of what they\u2019ve given themselves a chance to do.<\/p>\n
“I think everyone in New Zealand was stoked that the Crusaders were not in the final.”<\/p>\n
When it comes to how the Super Rugby Pacific final will be decided between the Hurricanes and Chiefs this Saturday, as expected, he\u2019s looking up front. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a front rower, mate, keep it simple\u2026 I reckon the set piece will be a massive, massive battle.\u201d<\/p>\n
He\u2019s also backing the new All Blacks coaching group to make their mark.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think Renz (Dave Rennie) will be awesome, mate\u2026 everyone speaks really highly of him.<\/p>\n
\u201c(Neil) Barnes\u2026 he won\u2019t take any shit. He\u2019ll tell them straight.\u201d<\/p>\n
