According to a report from Central News Agency<\/a>, China\u2019s State Council Information Office held a press conference on August 14 to highlight the achievements of the country\u2019s \u201c14th Five-Year Plan\u201d (2021\u20132025). Among these, China\u2019s total computing power reportedly ranks second in the world, while its AI application scale has grown rapidly. As cited in the report, the official highlighted that China accounts for 60% of the world\u2019s total AI patents.<\/p>\n China\u2019s National Data Administration official noted the rapid growth of the country\u2019s AI application scale. As cited in the report, he stated that as of the end of June this year, China\u2019s average daily token consumption had exceeded 30 trillion\u2014an increase of more than 300 times in just a year and a half.<\/p>\n He further noted that as of the end of June, China had built more than 35,000 high-quality datasets, with a total volume exceeding 400 petabytes (PB), as cited in the report.<\/p>\n The report adds, citing the Chinese official, that the training of AI models has also driven up demand for data transactions, with the cumulative transaction value of high-quality datasets nationwide reaching nearly RMB 4 billion as of the end of June this year.<\/p>\n At the same time, research by China\u2019s National Data Development Research Institute indicates that the number of data companies in China exceeded 400,000 in 2024, with the scale of the data industry reaching RMB 5.86 trillion, as the report notes.<\/p>\n Huawei\u2019s HarmonyOS is also highlighted as a representative of the rapid rise of China\u2019s domestic operating systems.
