It\u2019s the same with your phone and your computer, and probably your car, too.<\/p>\n<p>Old technology isn\u2019t quite as impressive as new technology, and whatever you buy often comes with improvements galore, particularly when there are years apart.<\/p>\n<p>In the case of TVs, that\u2019s more or less always true, and with the world\u2019s newest TVs, the picture quality is likely where many of those improvements will be.<\/p>\n<p>Better tech under the hood, longer lasting panels, and improved colour accuracy form a part, and Samsung\u2019s latest screen could be a sign of what\u2019s to come with improvements on the LED-backlighting side of things.<\/p>\n<p>Samsung\u2019s premium and flagship TVs have a new technology built to be a little better than the tiny white LEDs sitting behind a regular LCD TV <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pickr.com.au\/buyers-guide\/2021\/2021-tvs-explained-qned-qled-mini-led-more\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">known as Mini-LED<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of single white LEDs, \u201cMicro RGB\u201d uses tiny red, green, and blue LEDS built to be less than 100 micrometres in size set up in position under large panels of a TV.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"802\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-75868\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/samsung-micro-rgb-2025-04-jpg.webp.webp\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Distinct to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pickr.com.au\/news\/2019\/samsung-makes-the-wall-your-tv-with-micro-led\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Samsung\u2019s other \u201cmicro\u201d LED technology<\/a>, think of Micro RGB as the colours that make up light in a TV \u2014 red, green, and blue \u2014 controlling the backlighting for every pixels on screen, and having AI optimise the frames of content in real-time to work with the tiny RGB lights to improve the colour.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially Micro RGB is a more complex version of Mini LED, but with little coloured diodes to improve things. Samsung isn\u2019t alone in this approach, however, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pickr.com.au\/news\/2025\/hisense-gives-mini-led-more-oomph-with-huge-100-inch-screens\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hisense recently unveiling a similar approach<\/a> to Mini-LED using red, green, and blue diodes, a technology Hisense calls RGB-MiniLED.<\/p>\n<p>The two are similar, but not entirely the same, though they are pitched to the same style of TVs: big, flagship TVs, sold to folks who won\u2019t question the cost. As such, this first Samsung Micro RGB model is a 115 inch TV, so we don\u2019t expect it to necessarily be inexpensive.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of when you can expect to find Micro RGB in Australia, right now the answer is not at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>The first Samsung Micro RGB TVs in Australia are for Korea with the US to follow, while the rest of the world will arrive after that.
