The French kickboxer threw some pretty questionable strikes to the back of Pereira\u2019s head after a rocked \u201cPoatan\u201d shot for a takedown, leading to the end of the fight <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-white-house-2026-fight-card-start-time-full-results-dana-white-conor-mcgregor-cbs-mma\/450811\/highlights-ciryl-gane-spoils-alex-pereiras-triple-champ-bid-with-crushing-technical-knockout-sets-up-tom-aspinall-rematch\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">(watch the highlights here).<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cI think every time anybody fights, the referee should be watching everything that happens,\u201d White said. \u201cAnd I say it all the time, and I\u2019ll say it again: no reffing anywhere is perfect. It could be an NBA game, it could be an NFL game, definitely some fights. It\u2019s just never gonna be perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cWell, I also think that if you watch the fight, it\u2019s undeniable that he got hit with some strikes to the back of the head. But in the middle of the action, you know, when it\u2019s going on and guys are rolling around trying to get out of it, sometimes some fouls happen, and maybe Dean should have said, \u2018Hey, watch the back of the head,\u2019 or, you know, warned him or something like that. But I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Some have suggested Pereira\u2019s media tour complaining about the illegal shots <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/ufc-white-house-2026-fight-card-start-time-full-results-dana-white-conor-mcgregor-cbs-mma\/451675\/enough-alex-pereira-advised-to-stop-complaining-and-crying-about-ciryl-gane-loss-not-a-good-look\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">is making him look bad,<\/a> but White shot that down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">\u201cI can tell you this,\u201d White concluded. \u201cAlex Pereira is not a whiner, and Alex Pereira doesn\u2019t complain about things or make excuses after fights.
