Park staff said Mary was in a critical condition when she was recaptured and rushed to the Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH), where she underwent diagnostic testing.<\/p>\n
She was subsequently diagnosed with inflammation of the brain.<\/p>\n
A Paradise Country spokesperson said the cause was still unknown, but clinicians had ruled out a car strike, snakebite or cane toad.<\/p>\n
The park today said, following “steady improvements to her condition over the weekend”, Mary had been discharged from hospital to continue her recovery at Paradise Country.<\/p>\n

Park wildlife curator Lauren Mousley said this was encouraging, but warned the Tasmanian devil was “not out of the woods yet”.<\/p>\n
“This is a positive development, and we are pleased to welcome her back to Paradise Country, with our wildlife and vet teams continuing to care and support her,” she said in a statement.<\/p>\n
“Throughout her recovery, Mary has shown a fighting spirit, and it is lovely to see the improvements in her condition.”<\/p>\n

A park spokesperson said the Tasmanian devil remained stable and would continue on a “targeted treatment plan including a medicinal regime, managed diet and physiotherapy”.<\/p>\n
She would also receive 24-hour supported care at the park’s on-site veterinary centre, Paradise Country said.<\/p>\n
Village Roadshow Theme Parks head veterinarian Claire Madden praised specialist vets for their support through Mary’s “initial critical-care stage”.<\/p>\n
