Maroons<\/a> hero Sam Walker<\/a> admits he was \u201cbrought back down to earth\u201d on Sunday, while revealing he copped a sledge from Roosters<\/a> teammate Victor Radley<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Walker starred in Queensland\u2019s 44-24 victory over NSW<\/a> last Wednesday night, earning man of the match honours<\/a> in just his second State of Origin game. <\/p>\n

The halfback had his fingerprints all over the Maroons attack, including a magical pass to set up a try that had Andrew Johns<\/a> in awe on Nine\u2019s commentary.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old also nailed seven goals from as many attempts, including some tough sideline conversions in front of a packed Melbourne Cricket Ground.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Nine\u2019s 100% Footy on Monday, Walker said he found his rhythm with the boot and revealed Johnathan Thurston<\/a> played a role in the performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was awesome, it was a nice feeling,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the first couple of kicks, you get a pretty good feeling, it\u2019s like a golf swing almost and you feel like you\u2019re in rhythm and they\u2019re coming off pretty nicely. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was pretty cool to hit them like that, I had a bit of experience my first couple of years at the Roosters playing at AFL grounds, we played a lot of footy at the SCG.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did a lot of work on our captain\u2019s run goalkicking, spent a lot of time with Johnathan Thurston who helped me a fair bit …. I\u2019m lucky enough it came off.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, just a few days later back in club land, Walker\u2019s radar was totally off as he missed three conversions in the Roosters\u2019 27-8 win over Cronulla<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoosters fans aren\u2019t too happy with me,\u201d he said with a laugh.<\/p>\n

\u201cRads actually had a little word to me after the game and said \u2018you couldn\u2019t miss on Wednesday, now you wanna come back here and can\u2019t kick a goal\u2019. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll keep working on it, I guess it brought me back down to earth a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Radley played for the Blues in game two before backing up from Origin duties alongside Walker and a stack of other Roosters players in round 16.<\/p>\n

Former NSW coach Phil Gould<\/a> then gave his own cheeky message to Walker and said he \u201cwouldn\u2019t handle Suncorp\u201d during the Origin decider next month.<\/p>\n

The second-gen star was up to the task and fired back immediately. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll have too many points anyway, it won\u2019t matter,\u201d Walker said.<\/p>\n
