{"id":75320,"date":"2025-08-17T15:31:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-17T15:31:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/75320\/"},"modified":"2025-08-17T15:31:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-17T15:31:11","slug":"manslaughter-charges-after-crash-that-killed-father-and-son-in-regents-park-queensland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/75320\/","title":{"rendered":"Manslaughter charges after crash that killed father and son in Regents Park, Queensland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-1n6q21n-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">A father and his son have died after being struck by a ute south of <a class=\"css-1lg16vp-StyledTextLink ezegcyi0\" data-link-type=\"article-inline\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/7news.com.au\/news\/brisbane\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brisbane<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1n6q21n-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">The two pedestrians were hit by a ute on Green Rd at Regents Park in the city of Logan just after 11am on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1n6q21n-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Queensland Ambulance Service said it had treated two people at the scene \u2014 a 33-year-old man and a four-year-old boy \u2014 for life-threatening injuries but did not transport anyone to hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-178igh4-StyledParagraph e1s06mna1\">Know the news with the 7NEWS app: <a class=\"css-cvgehw-StyledContextualLink e1s06mna0\" href=\"https:\/\/7news.com.au\/app?utm_source=7NEWS&amp;utm_medium=contextual-link-app&amp;utm_campaign=7news-app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Download today <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/7news.com.au\/static\/media\/right-red-arrow.92bca5db.svg\" alt=\"Download today\" height=\"14\" width=\"20\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1n6q21n-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Queensland Police were earlier unable to confirm if the man and child had lost their lives in the crash but if paramedics do not take patients with life-threatening injuries to hospital, it is understood they have tragically died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1n6q21n-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Footage from the scene showed a broken children\u2019s bike lying on the footpath.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1n6q21n-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">Police confirmed the man and boy, both from nearby Crestmead, are known to each other.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1n6q21n-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">The driver of the white LDV dual cab ute, a 41-year-old from Regents Park, was not injured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1n6q21n-StyledParagraph e4e0a020\">He was taken into custody at the scene and has been charged with two counts of manslaughter.
