Latrell Mitchell<\/a> is set for another stint on the sidelines with South Sydney<\/a>, which doubles as another blow for NSW<\/a> ahead of the State of Origin<\/a> decider.<\/p>\n

The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a> reported on Monday morning that Mitchell completed the warm-up but then headed off the field at Heffron Park for medical attention.<\/p>\n

Mitchell had been firming for a return against Parramatta on Thursday night, but scans have since revealed a small calf tear that will rule him out.<\/p>\n

He hasn\u2019t played since Magic Round because of a back issue.<\/p>\n

Andrew Johns<\/a> was among the pundits who were calling for Mitchell to be picked for the Suncorp Stadium decider if fit.<\/p>\n

Johns said on Wide World of Sports\u2019 Immortal Behaviour<\/a> last week Mitchell should play at left centre if available, as the Blues plot a game three turnaround after their 44-24 defeat at the MCG<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mitchell spoke about his injury battle on Fox League\u2019s Sunday Night with Matty Johns prior to the latest blow at Bunnies\u2019 training.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re just sorting it out, a bit of swimming, a bit of pilates,\u201d Mitchell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cPushing for it [a return against Parramatta] … See what Wayne wants me to do this week, see if he\u2019s got a position for me.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a disc at the start. I got an injection.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has settled down since then, so I\u2019ve been running and training well, and looking forward to getting back this week against Parra.\u201d<\/p>\n
