{"id":754041,"date":"2026-06-23T01:36:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T01:36:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/754041\/"},"modified":"2026-06-23T01:36:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T01:36:09","slug":"randwick-launch-fundraiser-for-new-cricket-roller","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/754041\/","title":{"rendered":"Randwick launch fundraiser for new cricket roller"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Against the odds, in 1984 a cricket pitch was established on the slopes of Randwick playing fields, providing the opportunity to play cricket locally. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since then, Randwick Cricket Club has developed a team to\u00a0play\u00a0in the Stroud league. The club now\u00a0need help to bring the club into the 21st Century.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Club Captain,\u00a0Pete Richter said: \u201cFor some years now we have struggled with pitch preparation\u00a0due to a reliance on a heavy manual push\/pull roller.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSport England have recognised our plight and pledged a grant of \u00a32,500 to buy a motorised roller, but only\u00a0if we match their grant offer\u00a0with fundraising. A\u00a0Crowdfunder appeal has been launched and we now\u00a0need\u00a0just under \u00a31,000 to match the Sport England offer.
