The actions of Josh Hokit during the UFC White House were widely criticized around the sports world, not just by people involved with MMA. But Hokit doesn\u2019t seem to be backing down on his thoughts, taking to social media to call out whoever says anything about his actions.<\/p>\n

Josh Hokit Threatens to Slap Cam Newton After Comments on UFC White House<\/p>\n

Josh Hokit won his fight against Derrick Lewis, extending his MMA record to 10-0 and firmly putting himself in contention for the belt. His post-fight interview with Joe Rogan was going normally, but at the end, out of nowhere, he shouted a phrase that even Rogan was bemused to hear:<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd lastly, Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?\u201d<\/p>\n

The White House event was supposed to be a major celebration of the country. The occasion marked the 250th year since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of the U.S., with a smaller list of fights and many title shots. Hokit\u2019s actions were widely called out after the event.<\/p>\n

This includes a former NFL MVP who\u2019s now part of the podcast world. Cam Newton, speaking on his \u201c4th & 1\u201d show, defended the former first lady, saying, \u201cwe don\u2019t play about that one.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Hokit was in no mood for apologizing and threatened Newton on his X account. \u201cTasteless lol I\u2019d literally slap you tasteless and you wouldn\u2019t do anything about it,\u201d said Hokit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Newton wasn\u2019t overly critical in his tone, even though he didn\u2019t approve of Hokit\u2019s comments. However, the fighter\u2019s personality would never allow him to talk in a normal tone after he\u2019s criticized.<\/p>\n

Newton enjoyed way more success in the NFL than Hokit. The latter joined the Fresno State Bulldogs as a walk-on and went undrafted after four years with the university. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers and spent two seasons as part of their practice squad.<\/p>\n

He later signed with the Arizona Cardinals in August 2022 but was released five days later and never signed with another team, effectively ending his football career. His switch to MMA has been much more successful, and he\u2019s aiming for a title shot in the heavyweight division of the UFC.<\/p>\n

Newton, on the other hand, played for 11 seasons as a quarterback in the NFL, spending most of his career with the Carolina Panthers. He was the league\u2019s MVP in 2015 and last played in the 2021 season.<\/p>\n
