\n\tLISA<\/a> is looking back at her past as she gets ready to move forward as a soloist. In a Vanity Fair<\/a> cover story published Tuesday (June 23), the BLACKPINK<\/a> member reminisced on meeting her bandmates back when they were trainees and revealed that she\u2019s already started work on her next album.<\/p>\n

\n\tAn origin story that many BLINKs may know by heart, LISA was the second of the quartet to enroll in YG Entertainment\u2019s training program. There, she met JENNIE, who showed her the ropes, after which JISOO came along. \u201cWe went out together, even though I can barely speak Korean and she can barely speak English,\u201d LISA told the publication, \u201cbut we figured out how to have a conversation, a great conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBut it was ROS\u00c9, who arrived roughly a year later, with whom LISA says she got particularly close in those days. Because they were the only ones whose family lived abroad, the White Lotus star says of ROS\u00c9, \u201cWe became like twin sisters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe foursome would go on to become one of the biggest girl groups in the world, charting four entires on the Billboard 200<\/a> \u2014 including 2022 No. 1 album Born Pink \u2014 and 11 hits on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a> to date. In 2025, LISA released her debut solo album, Alter Ego, and according to VF, she\u2019s currently working on her sophomore solo effort in the U.S.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe publication didn\u2019t have much more detail than that, other than the fact that LISA is in the \u201cexploratory\u201d recording phase and has the \u201cloose\u201d idea of her second LP supporting her upcoming Las Vegas residency. As announced in March<\/a>, the performer will set up shop at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for two weekends in November.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut while she\u2019s now one of the most in-demand singers and dancers around, LISA\u2019s mom originally had a different plan for her. \u201cWhen I was little, my mom wanted me to be a kid actor, and she sent me to an acting school,\u201d she told the publication, noting that she didn\u2019t like it back then \u2014 even though she\u2019s since made her screen debut in White Lotus and is considering other acting projects. \u201cI feel like acting was always one of the things that I never [wanted to] try.\u201d<\/p>\n
