{"id":757987,"date":"2026-06-24T21:50:16","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T21:50:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/757987\/"},"modified":"2026-06-24T21:50:16","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T21:50:16","slug":"cris-cyborg-retirement-fight-set-for-pfl-tampa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/757987\/","title":{"rendered":"Cris Cyborg Retirement Fight Set For PFL Tampa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Cris Cyborg\u2019s legendary mixed martial arts (MMA) career is coming to an end.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">The Professional Fighters League (PFL) Featherweight champion will compete in her final MMA fight in the main event of PFL Tampa on Sat., Aug. 22, 2026, when she takes on former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Ketlen Vieira inside Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Cyborg (29-2) is riding a nine-fight win streak and was last in action against Sara Collins, whom she submitted to win the vacant PFL Featherweight championship (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/professional-fighters-league-pfl\/409501\/highlights-cris-cyborg-chokes-out-sara-collins-at-pfl-lyon-becomes-champion-once-again-video\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">watch highlights<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Prior to that, Cyborg defeated Larissa Pacheco <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmamania.com\/2024\/10\/19\/24274525\/pfl-battle-of-the-giants-results-bloody-cris-cyborg-outlasts-larissa-pacheco-historic-championship\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">via unanimous decision<\/a> to become the only MMA fighter in history to become a quintuple champion, having captured world titles across five major MMA promotions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">In addition to her MMA run, Cyborg has also started boxing and currently holds a 7-0 professional boxing record with five stoppage wins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Despite being cut, Vieira is actually coming off a win, having knocked off surging prospect Jacqueline Cavalcanti in her final Octagon appearance.
