Selangor government will introduce a RM10,000 interest-free financing scheme for citizens keen to venture into entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said applications for the \u201cPembiayaan Dana Pantas Usahawan\u201d fund could be made through the Dana Plus by Hijrah Selangor app.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe programme, expected to benefit 2,000 aspiring entrepreneurs, has a three-year payback period,\u201d he said, disclosing that RM20mil was set aside for it.<\/p>\n
He said this while presenting Phase Two of the Selangor Resilience Strengthening Package (PPDTS), which involves a RM209.26mil fund, at Bangunan Dewan Negeri Selangor in Shah Alam yesterday.<\/p>\n
The package also includes the Selangor Entrepreneur Recovery Initiative aimed at helping entrepreneurs restructure their businesses following declines in performance due to supply disruptions.<\/p>\n
Amirudin said about 6,000 entrepreneurs with existing loans from Yayasan Hijrah Selangor were eligible to apply for interest- and penalty-free loan restructuring to help ensure their businesses remain sustainable during this challenging period.<\/p>\n
A RM4mil sum has also been set aside for the career transition programme under Platform Selangor (PLATS) to assist jobless individuals venture into entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
Amirudin said the programme offered 5,000 slots, with participants receiving 12 months of Internet and mobile data support.<\/p>\n
The assistance would help them access digital entrepreneurship training modules and apply for financing or loans to start their businesses, he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter that, they will receive guidance from PLATS on business strategies and be exposed to its business ecosystem.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey will also receive an allowance to ease their living cost,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The state government allocated RM1.5mil for the Selangor Career Programme to help make matches between people who have lost their jobs, and industries seeking workers with the right skills.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome 30,000 Selangor citizens looking for employment will participate in this year\u2019s programme,\u201d said Amirudin.<\/p>\n
