These included the evening\u2019s highest accolade, the Excellence Award, awarded to Geoneon CEO and co-founder Roxane Bandini-Maeder.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>Geoneon was recognized at the seventh annual Australian Space Awards, held in Sydney on Thursday 18 June 2026, where 28 winners were selected from more than 160 finalists across Australia\u2019s rapidly growing space sector.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>The company won Business of the Year &#8211; SME, while Ms Bandini-Maeder was named Female Space Leader of the Year and received the Excellence Award, the highest individual honour of the evening. The awards recognize Geoneon\u2019s growth as a Tasmanian space-enabled technology company and its work applying satellite imagery, artificial intelligence and data fusion to map climate risk and vegetation.<\/p>\n<p>The power of Earth observation data<\/p>\n<p>Geoneon CEO and co-founder Roxane Bandini-Maeder said the recognition was a proud moment for the company and for Tasmania\u2019s role in Australia\u2019s space ecosystem.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWinning three Australian Space Awards is an incredible recognition for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoneon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Geoneon<\/a> and for the team behind the work,\u201d Bandini-Maeder said.&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to be building space-enabled technology from Tasmania and applying it to some of the most practical challenges facing communities, infrastructure owners and land managers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is also great to see the downstream space sector being recognized. Space is not only about launch, satellites and hardware \u2013 it is also about how we use satellite data and space-enabled technology to create real-world impact on the ground.\u201d&#13;\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor us, satellite data is only powerful when it can be translated into decisions.
