The clock ticked down to zero with chants of \u201cWe Want Mabrey! We Want Mabrey!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mabrey was 17-for-28 from the field, hitting 9-for-18 3-pointers, and made 10-for-12 free throws. The 29-year-old former Notre Dame star shattered the expansion team\u2019s previous high of 38 points done twice by Brittney Sykes.<\/p>\n<p>Julie Allemand added 13 points and 14 assists for Toronto in the highest-score game in the team\u2019s short history.<\/p>\n<p>Nneka Ogwumike and Dearica Hamby led the Sparks with 21 points apiece.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto climbed back to .500 at 9-9, and Los Angeles fell to 8-9.<\/p>\n<p>The Tempo opened a nine-game homestand that includes two games at Montreal\u2019s Bell Centre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Association crew reacts to Marina Mabrey scoring 53 points, tying the WNBA record.
