Phoebe Bridgers<\/a> has shared her first song in four years \u2018Lost Boys\u2019, the first taster from her forthcoming album \u2018Lost Weekend\u2019 \u2013 check it out below.<\/p>\n

The soothing single sees the singer-songwriter portraying a mystical elf at a Renaissance faire surrounded by knights. Licorice Pizza<\/a> star Skyler Gisondo also makes an appearance.<\/p>\n

Her Boygenius<\/a> bandmates Lucy Dacus<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Julien Baker<\/a> also feature on vocals while Christian Lee Hutson<\/a> lends a hand on acoustic guitar. Jack Antonof<\/a>f also plays various instruments on the track.<\/p>\n

It arrives after Bridgers announced her new album \u2013 her first since 2020\u2019s \u2018Punisher<\/a>\u2019, earlier this week.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It is set to be released on August 14 on Dead Oceans and can be pre-ordered here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to a press release, the record finds Bridgers at the \u201cheight of her powers, a master, taking nothing more seriously than this craft, refining here many of the motifs that distinguished her work previously on this new album that\u2019s otherwise, everywhere, full of surprises\u201d.<\/p>\n

The singer-songwriter previewed the record during her first live solo live show in three years last month in Roswell, New Mexico<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At a more recent show at Madison Square Garden which NME witnessed<\/a>, she debuted seven new tracks many of which continued the singular sound Bridgers built on \u2018Punisher\u2019 \u2013 melancholy lyrics made up of astute observations of the state of the world and relationships, backed by slow strumming guitars and orchestration that oscillates from Americana to indie folk.<\/p>\n

Some of the songwriting also harkened back to the unabashed candidness of her debut album, 2017\u2019s \u2018Stranger in the Alps\u2019. A new number she announced with \u201cthis song is about the past, though I\u2019m told all of my songs are,\u201d came with a crushing, crescendoing chorus that saw her and Hutson\u00a0strumming emphatically as she alluded to an ill-fated engagement.<\/p>\n

Bridgers also used the gig to call out ICE and raise funding for immigrants<\/a>. All proceeds from ticket sales went to Community Justice Exchange\u2019s Immigration Bond Freedom Fund<\/a>, which provides aid and bail to those in ICE detention centres.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, she recently announced plans to hit the road<\/a> in support of her new album in the UK, Ireland and North America and added further dates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Support comes from Alex G<\/a> at the North American shows and Isaac Wood at UK and European dates, and Bridgers has confirmed that there will be a \u201cno phones\u201d rule at all upcoming gigs.
