Broncos star Payne Haas has responded to the rumours he could leave the club mid-season as his coach declared that Brisbane aren\u2019t out of the title race yet despite a seventh straight loss<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Haas has signed with the Rabbitohs from 2027 but given the Broncos\u2019 vanishing finals hopes, Souths have considered trying to poach the star prop before the June 30 mid-season player transfer deadline. <\/p>\n

However, Haas has strongly denied such a move.<\/p>\n

Following the Broncos\u2019 24-18 loss to the Roosters, Brisbane need to win at least eight of their last nine games to make the eight.<\/p>\n

\u201dIt\u2019s BS,\u201d the Broncos\u2019 stand-in skipper said in the post-match press conference.<\/p>\n

Once again, Broncos coach Michael Maguire was pleased with his side\u2019s effort despite the result.<\/p>\n

Brisbane hung tough against a classy Roosters outfit who easily won the territory battle but the moral victory won\u2019t provide much consolation for fans of the proud club.<\/p>\n

The loss doesn\u2019t mathematically eliminate the Broncos but they\u2019ll need a miracle with Fox League\u2019s Cooper Cronk believing Brisbane\u2019s finals hopes have been extinguished.<\/p>\n

Despite the near-impossible task facing Maguire and his team, the coach isn\u2019t wavering in his belief, at least publicly. <\/p>\n

When a reporter put to him the Broncos have an uphill battle ahead, Maguire replied with: \u201cI wouldn\u2019t say it\u2019s an uphill battle with the team I\u2019ve got\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople can say whatever they like to be truthfully honest.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe belief I have in this group and the journey that I\u2019ve had with this group, it\u2019s a great group. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf if you fight like that, well we\u2019ll let that do the talking.<\/p>\n

Maguire would later fire back at another reporter who asked if the coach was considering blooding some younger guys.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou obviously weren\u2019t listening to what I just said there before,\u201d Maguire said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to continually pick the players that I believe can make us win. <\/p>\n

\u201cI get it\u2019s a valid question and I understand that, but they\u2019re also it\u2019s a Broncos jersey you know, and they compete. <\/p>\n

\u201cI mean it\u2019s doable. So why not?\u201d<\/p>\n
