Pushes Back on Claim Jonah Hill\u2019s \u2018Cut Off\u2019 Is \u2018Unreleasable\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Warner Bros. pushed back on claims that Jonah Hill\u2019s upcoming comedy \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/kristen-wiig-jonah-hill-cut-off-cast-warner-bros\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cut Off<\/a>\u201d was \u201cunreleasable\u201d after it was pulled from its original July release date.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat speculation is inaccurate,\u201d a spokesperson for the studio told TheWrap Friday evening after <a href=\"https:\/\/puck.news\/newsletter_content\/what-im-hearing-ellisons-cnn-sophies-choice-mike-n-pams-report-card\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Puck News<\/a>\u2018 Matthew Belloni claimed the movie was no longer scheduled for July 17 as it was viewed as \u201cunreleasable.\u201d (The original July 17 release date would\u2019ve seen \u201cCut Off\u201d going up against Christopher Nolan\u2019s highly-anticipated \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d adaptation starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Tom Holland and more notable names.)<\/p>\n<p>A representative for Hill expressed a similar sentiment, sharing with TheWrap that the movie was simply \u201cnot finished\u201d yet and currently in post production.<\/p>\n<p>An individual with knowledge also challenged Belloni\u2019s narrative, telling TheWrap that Hill\u2019s movie, which c0-stars Kristen Wiig, wrapped production back in January \u2013 leaving Warner Brothers wanting more time in the run-up to the release. TheWrap has since learned that a new release date is forthcoming.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t<a class=\"the-wrap-read-more__image\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/creative-content\/movies\/luca-guadagnino-breaks-silence-artificial-cancellation-sam-altman-biopic\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Luca-Guadagnino-Sam-Altman.jpg\" class=\"attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"Luca Guadagnino Sam Altman\"   data-portal-copyright=\"TheWrap\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\"\/>\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCut Off,\u201d which also stars Nathan Lane and Bette Midler, tells the story of two rich siblings who are cut off from their parents and forced to learn how to support themselves for the first time. Additional cast members include Adriana Barraza, Camila Cabello, Langston Kerman, Chelsea Peretti and Cary Christopher.<\/p>\n<p>Ezra Woods penned the screenplay alongside Hill. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCut Off\u201d marks Hill\u2019s third feature-length fictional film, having previously helmed the 2018 coming-of-age drama \u201cMid90s\u201d and the 2026 black comedy \u201cOutcome,\u201d which he also co-wrote with Woods.
