Crows great Tony Modra is continuing his recovery after suffering serious facial injuries in a truck crash, and he has spoken from this hospital bed via an audio message to fans.<\/p>\n

Close friend and former teammate Mark Ricciuto played the audio message on Kayo Sports pre-game.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t look the same and didn\u2019t sound the same, but he was in good spirits,\u201d Ricciuto told Kayo Sports.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t describe with the same words how much he said it hurt, but he did say that he now knows how Dean Kemp felt [when the former West Coast star copped that famous hit].\u201d<\/p>\n

Modra sent an audio message from his hospital bed, thanking fans for their support since his accident and wishing the teams well tonight.<\/p>\n

\u201cG\u2019day, everybody,\u201d he started.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to watching tonight\u2019s Showdown.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve heard I\u2019ve had a lot of support, not just Crows fans, but Port fans as well, so I\u2019d just like to thank everybody, [and I] hope everyone has a great night.<\/p>\n

\u201c[I\u2019m] looking forward to the friendly banter and the two teams putting on a great show for South Australia. Enjoy the game, and make sure you drive home safe.\u201d<\/p>\n
