According to NBA insider Jake Fischer<\/a>, the current belief around the league is that James may be more likely to leave Los Angeles than stay with the Lakers next season.<\/p>\n

“There is definitely a lot of belief around the league, around Los Angeles, stemming out of Klutch Sports, that LeBron has so many outcomes on the table here,” Fischer said on Bleacher Report. “It might even be more likely than not that he leaves Los Angeles than stays with the Lakers.”<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles Lakers’ negotiations with LeBron James have reportedly not gained much traction so far this offseason.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania<\/a>, the Lakers have not yet offered James a contract, and there has been minimal communication between the two sides since the negotiation window first opened.<\/p>\n

“There was a check-in call made, to my understanding, early in free agency once teams were able to start negotiating with their own free agents after the end of the NBA Finals,” said ESPN’s Shams Charania on NBA Today.<\/p>\n

“Since then though there hasn’t been much communication, from my understanding, between the Lakers and LeBron James’ side. And certainly not an offer yet.”<\/p>\n

“They’re trying to see what can they do with his $50 million of space, potentially, and then where does that leave LeBron?”<\/p>\n

While talks with the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly not moved much since the start of the offseason, other teams could swoop in to land LeBron for what could potentially be his final stint in the NBA.<\/p>\n

According to NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints<\/a>, the Golden State Warriors<\/a> currently believe they have the best chance of acquiring LeBron if he does not re-sign with the Lakers.<\/p>\n

“In terms of having access to their full mid-level exception, the Warriors firmly believe that they are the frontrunners to land LeBron James if he leaves the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency,” Siegel reported.<\/p>\n

“Once again, Golden State is pursuing LeBron, and this will be their best chance yet… assuming James would even consider taking a massive pay cut to join them.<\/p>\n

“That is a big ask, to go from making $50 million to $15 million or $16 million for the year, but this is LeBron we are talking about.<\/p>\n

“He wants to win at the end of his career, and if there is any player who could afford to take this massive reduction in salary and still make up for it in his endorsements and business ventures, it’s LeBron,” he added.<\/p>\n
