Luke Brooks<\/a>\u2032 season appears to be over, with the playmaker leaving Brookvale Oval with a suspected ACL rupture on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Brooks, who hasn\u2019t missed a game since joining the Sea Eagles<\/a> two years ago, failed to return for the second half of his side\u2019s 30-4 win over Melbourne<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old was replaced by young gun Joey Walsh<\/a> before the extent of his injury was confirmed by sideline reporter and NRLW star Tiana Penitani-Gray.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are huge concerns around his knee, it\u2019s a suspected ACL as he sits there with some ice on the bench … quite a sombre mood,\u201d she said on Fox League, while Greg Alexander<\/a> described the injury as \u201chorrible\u201d.<\/p>\n

After taking a 24-0 lead into the break, Manly were placed on the back-foot in the second half when Will Warbrick crossed for the visitors\u2019 first try before Walsh was sin binned for a hip-drop tackle on Ativalu Lisasti<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It mattered little in the end however, with the hosts scoring a comfortable win.<\/p>\n

Speaking post-game, Manly coach Kieran Foran<\/a> confirmed that the five-eighth would likely be out for the rest of the season with the ACL injury.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s absolutely devastating for Luke,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re all shattered for him, we\u2019ll obviously wait for confirmation but they\u2019re pretty certain it is, which is gut-wrenching for us as a club, but more importantly Luke. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll get around him, he\u2019s such a vital member to our footy club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Foran also paid tribute to the \u201cbravery\u201d shown by Brooks, who managed to play on with the injury for more than 10 minutes before half time. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe medical staff are saying the fact he was able to stay on was quite incredible – it would have been incredibly painful,\u201d the coach said\/.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe could see him in some trouble out there limping around. The fact he was able to play on is a massive testament to his bravery and his character.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, they could be without both Brooks and Walsh next weekend against Parramatta, while the likes of Haumole Olakau\u2019atu, Tolu Koula and Tom Trbojevic could be away on State of Origin<\/a> duties as well. <\/p>\n

Olakau\u2019atu was at his rampaging best<\/a> against the Storm, crossing for a first-half double and breaking seven tackles as he pushes for a NSW Blues<\/a> recall.<\/p>\n
