To mark Saint Laurent\u2019s iconic runway show for the Men\u2019s Spring-Summer 2027 collection, designer Anthony Vaccarello introduced a rather \u2026 quirky addition to the line \u2014 a fully transparent men\u2019s dress shoe.<\/p>\n

As models walked through an immersive fog installation at the Modern Art museum in Paris, onlookers were quickly distracted by the alarming plastic shoes making their way down the misty catwalk.<\/p>\n
\u201cI asked myself: \u2018Why torture women with plastic shoes, but not men?\u2019\u201d Vaccarello said with a grin at the show.<\/p>\n
Historically, men\u2019s shoes have remained more rigid and conventional than women\u2019s footwear.<\/p>\n
A trend that one of Australia\u2019s leading men\u2019s personal stylists argues is in place for a very good reason.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegarding the new YSL transparent men\u2019s shoes, men aren\u2019t typically known for having aesthetic feet or maintaining a rigorous foot care routine,\u201d Jeff Lack told news.com.au.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo me, these shoes give off \u2018dinosaur vibes\u2019 and are a bit creepy.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to add that he believes designer Vaccarello was deliberately stirring the pot.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe collection uses transparency to be provocative, and it has clearly succeeded \u2014 after all, here we are discussing it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Well-known Australian fashion creator, who goes by the name \u2018Fashion Critical\u2019 on Instagram, also had some things to say about the collection.<\/a><\/p>\n And by the way, the saying \u2018if you don\u2019t have something nice to say, don\u2019t say it at all\u2019 is absolutely not applicable in this instance.<\/p>\n She started by alerting her followers to the glaring issue that: \u201cThe men are wearing transparent plastic shoes.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI have long suspected that fashion designers are trolling us and trying to see how much rich people are willing to spend on ugly things,\u201d she shared in the video.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd ironically, the show was called Beyond the Fog, which I just think is so funny because those plastic shoes are going to get real fogged up.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, there\u2019s moisture in the feet. If you sweat even a little bit, it\u2019s gonna get real misty in there.\u201d<\/p>\n
