Rescue workers on the ground in Venezuela following earthquakes<\/a> <\/p>\n

Dana Marie McNicholl reports on the dire situation in Venezuela following two massive 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes, with a death toll of 920 and over 50,000 still missing. Florida volunteers, particularly the Venezuelan community in Doral, are tirelessly collecting and packing humanitarian aid. US military forces from Southern Command, including search and rescue teams, have also arrived on the ground to provide critical assistance.<\/p>\n

The wife of former MLB<\/a> outfielder Gorkys Hernandez was among those killed in the devastating earthquakes that tore through Venezuela earlier in the week.<\/p>\n

Hernandez made the heartbreaking revelation about Deisy Maria Tovar De Hernandez in a post on Instagram Saturday.<\/p>\n

Hernandez and his teammates rushed back to the hotel after the game was suspended. He played seven years in the majors with the Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants<\/a> and others.<\/p>\n

Venezuela suffered 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes<\/a> back-to-back, which caused destruction across the country. More than 1,400 people are reported to have died with another 68,900 missing.<\/p>\n
