At the age of 60, John Daly is still stealing the show. The two-time major winner put up his best performance on the senior circuit on Saturday, but he did so on the back of absolutely no preparation.<\/p>\n

After opening with a 1-over 73, Daly bounced back remarkably at the 2026 PGA Tour Champions Broome County Open, despite saying he has not worked on his golf game in years. <\/p>\n

“I haven’t seen a driving range in five years, no,” Daly said. “I don’t work on my golf game.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Day 2 of the event, Daly had a bogey-free 9-under 63, the lowest round of his PGA Tour Champions career, according to Nick Stavas of GolfWeek<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Though now the event has a different name due to sponsorship reasons.<\/p>\n

At En-Joie Golf Club, Daly enjoyed plenty of support from the galleries as he put together his record round. The five-time PGA Tour winner carded seven birdies and an eagle to climb into the top 15.<\/p>\n

“I’ve always loved [the fans],” Daly said. “There’s no skeletons in my closet… When I do things good, they see it. I’ve never lied to my fans. I think a lot of them relate to the life that I’ve lived and some of the ups and downs that I’ve had. We just connect so good and it’s been that way for 35 years… I love them.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 2017 Insperity Invitational has been Daly’s only win on the PGA Tour Champions. Earlier this month, he put up his best finish of the season at the American Family Insurance Championship, a T17.<\/p>\n

En-Joie is where Daly secured his first non-major PGA Tour victory back in 1992. He made sure to express his love for the course.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Daly racked up five wins on the PGA Tour during his career. The 1991 PGA Championship was his first on the tour. A year later, he headed to En-Joie for his second win, according to the same GolfWeek article.<\/p>\n

“I love everything about [En-Joie],” Daly said. “For me, I’ve been a cutter of the ball for about 20-something years now.”<\/p>\n

“It’s tough because I used to \u2014 when I won here in ’92, I was hitting about a 20-yard draw and hitting it about 360 off the tee, which this really favors a draw,\u201d Daly added. <\/p>\n

Daly admitted he no longer carries the distance he once did, noting he can barely reach the par 5s he used to attack with 8-irons. He also called it a tougher and longer test than he remembers, while crediting the course for being in great shape.<\/p>\n
