Spain\u2019s Eugenio Chacarra continued his red-hot run of form with another standout performance on the DP World Tour. The 26-year-old delivered a dominant display at the Italian Open, adding another impressive result to what has been a breakthrough season.<\/p>\n

At Circolo Golf Torino, which is considered one of the most difficult golf courses in Italy, Chacarra put on a strong performance. After taking a 54-hole lead, the Spaniard did not let it slip away and instead extended it.<\/p>\n

With the victory, he not only claimed his second title in as many starts but also secured a place at next month\u2019s Open Championship, taking another significant step toward his dream of playing on the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n

“I feel great. Winning is always fun, but that’s what we work for, you know. I’ve been doing an incredible amount of work the last couple of years. I’m very proud of myself,\u201d said Chacarra after the win in a video posted by the DP World Tour on X.<\/p>\n

He finished at 24 under for the week after shooting a 7-under 64 in the final round, securing a five-stroke victory over Matt Wallace and his second straight DP World Tour title after winning the KLM Open in the Netherlands earlier this month.<\/p>\n

“It was a good fight. Two world class players, probably two of the best players in the world too. This is what I’ve been dreaming of, to play against those kind of players down the stretch and I’m very proud of how I played and how I managed myself today,” he added.<\/p>\n

Wallace’s final-round 67 saw him finish runner-up ahead of Joaquin Niemann, while a low round of the day 63 from Joakim Lagergren lifted the Swede to fourth, and Spain’s Angel Ayora completed the top five at 16 under.<\/p>\n

His win takes him to third in the Race to Dubai rankings, behind Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy. He is well on his way to earning his PGA Tour card.<\/p>\n

Now, Chacarra heads to his first Open Championship.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old secured the one Open Championship ticket available to the top eligible player not already exempt at the Italian Open.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very excited. I\u2019ve never played there, I\u2019ve always dreamed of playing it, and been watching on TV since I was little. Excited to be out there, now it\u2019s time to celebrate, and then we can focus on that,\u201d he said on his Open qualification, as reported by DP World Tour<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Spaniard featured at the 2024 U.S. Open and the 2025 PGA Championship but failed to make the cut on both occasions.<\/p>\n

With his rich run of form, Chacarra will look forward to putting up a strong display at Royal Birkdale next month.<\/p>\n
