Eight-time All-Star closer Aroldis Chapman is closing in on more history. <\/p>\n
The Boston Red Sox star recorded his 1,363rd strikeout against the New York Yankees on Sunday, and he’s now tied for the most by a reliever in MLB history with Hall of Famer Hoyt Wilhelm. <\/p>\n
The strikeout came during the ninth inning of Sunday’s contest. <\/p>\n
Chapman will almost certainly break the record soon, perhaps in his next appearance, and it will only add to his historic career. The 38-year-old holds the record for the fastest recorded pitch in MLB history, though Jacob Misiorowski could be<\/a> coming for that record.
