For the teams near World Cup host cities &#8212; the Blue Jays, Braves, Red Sox, Rangers, Astros, Royals, Dodgers, Angels, Marlins, Yankees, Mets, Phillies, Mariners and Giants &#8212; these events have been \u201cmore than spontaneous occurrences.\u201d They have come as a result of \u201cmonths of outreach and planning.\u201d In the fall, MLB and these clubs began \u201chosting video calls to share ideas and best practices\u201d and the calls \u201cramped up around the holidays.\u201d Teams also began \u201cdevising their own promotions and ticket packages.\u201d The day the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/06\/23\/from-fenway-to-miami-tartan-army-brings-crowds-and-atmosphere-to-marlins\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/06\/23\/from-fenway-to-miami-tartan-army-brings-crowds-and-atmosphere-to-marlins\/\">Tartan Army<\/a> marched outside Fenway Park, the Red Sox hosted \u201cScotland Day,\u201d an \u201cextension of the team\u2019s prior efforts to recognize diverse heritage groups across New England.\u201d The Rangers \u201cpurchased billboards all across the metroplex in five different languages promoting the Rangers and their futbol themed promotions.\u201d They launched a website,\u202fRangers.com\/FIFA, also translated in five languages.
