A British expat has shared his frustration at the \u201chorrific\u201d driving standards in Australia, claiming there is one thing Aussies never like doing.<\/p>\n
The expat, Jack, lives in Perth and says there\u2019s one thing about Aussie driving standards that annoys him.<\/p>\n
He said that \u201cback home\u201d in the UK, drivers are far more courteous whereas in Australia its \u201ceverybody for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jack said in a TikTok video that it is always easy to tell when a driver is British instead of Australian.<\/p>\n
He described Aussie driving standards as \u201chorrific\u201d and said Australians never let other drivers out in a variety of situations.<\/p>\n
\u201cI let people out at junctions, when they\u2019re reversing out of parking spaces,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy don\u2019t Australians do that? They do not want anyone to pull out.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can see why there\u2019s a lot of crashes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jack said that not only do Australian drivers not let drivers out, they also never let people merge on a freeway.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou try and pull out, and people just speed up,” he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just don\u2019t understand it at all.”<\/p>\n
Jack\u2019s feelings about Aussie driving were seemingly shared by others in the comments, who voiced similar concerns.<\/p>\n
\u201cTotally this. After one year it still drives me nuts,\u201d one user commented.<\/p>\n
Another added that they \u201cthink about this every single time I get in the car here it\u2019s absolutely mad\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought I was going mad,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n
Another British expat wished \u201cPeople were more considerate with their driving here\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cGod forbid they let one person in.\u201d<\/p>\n
Some Australians also agreed with Jack\u2019s take, describing their own experiences.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs an Aussie who has lived here in the UK for the past five years, yes,\u201d said one Aussie.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s so nice here. Everyone thanks you on the road and lets you out.\u201d<\/p>\n
