{"id":770043,"date":"2026-06-30T14:27:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T14:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/770043\/"},"modified":"2026-06-30T14:27:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T14:27:14","slug":"west-coast-eagles-injury-update-round-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/770043\/","title":{"rendered":"West Coast Eagles injury update: Round 17"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__summary\">\n                High Performance Manager Phil Merriman provides an update on West Coast&#8217;s injured players\n            <\/p>\n<p>\n                            By westcoasteagles.com.au\n                            <\/p>\n<p>Experienced midfielder Tim Kelly is expected to be available for selection against Adelaide on Friday night at Optus Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly missed the trip to face Carlton due to a hamstring complaint sustained at training last Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTim experienced some tightness in his hamstring in the last session of the week,\u201d High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe obviously made the decision not to risk him. He is on track to complete all of training this week and be available for selection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tyler Brockman is also a test after missing the WAFL clash with East Perth due to hamstring tightness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrocky was close to playing last week after developing some hamstring tightness,\u201d Merriman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven his lack of training volume over the season we made the decision not to risk him. He will be a test this week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Draftee Cooper Duff-Tytler will undergo further assessment after missing the final term in Saturday&#8217;s clash with Carlton due to calf soreness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCooper felt some tightness in his calf in the third quarter against Carlton on the weekend,\u201d Merriman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are letting his calf settle and once he begins his run program, we will have a clearer understanding of timeframes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a positive development, Harry Edwards is expected to resume full training when pre-season begins later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Edwards was assessed by the AFL Concussion Panel last Thursday and will undergo a specialist rehabilitation program.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHarry attended the AFL Concussion Panel last Thursday and the decision was made to give him more time to recover from his concussions earlier this year,\u201d Merriman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPleasingly, we will look to have Harry back into full training at the start of pre-season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Key defender Reuben Ginbey has commenced his return-to-run program as he continues his recovery from a quad injury, while Sam Allen continues to progress from his knee and hamstring injuries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReuben has started his return to running program and will be building his volume and function over the next few weeks,\u201d Merriman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will start to see Sam in some low-level football drills in the next week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Forward Archer Reid is recovering from a minor knee procedure and will be reassessed in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArcher, along with our doctors, made the decision to have a small procedure on his knee last week,\u201d Merriman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArcher will recover from surgery and then hopefully get going in a couple of weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>                                Hamstring<\/p>\n<p>                                Test<\/p>\n<p>                                Hamstring<\/p>\n<p>                                Test<\/p>\n<p>                                Knee\/Hamstring<\/p>\n<p>                                7 weeks<\/p>\n<p class=\"injury-list__info-content\">\n                                                Sam&#8217;s momentum in his comeback from an ACL reconstruction has been haltered by a hamstring injury sustained in training\n                                            <\/p>\n<p>                                Quad<\/p>\n<p>                                7 weeks<\/p>\n<p>                                Calf<\/p>\n<p>                                TBC<\/p>\n<p>                                Knee<\/p>\n<p>                                TBC<\/p>\n<p>                                Concussion<\/p>\n<p>                                Season<\/p>\n<p>                                Knee<\/p>\n<p>                                Season<\/p>\n<p class=\"injury-list__info-content\">\n                                                Noah sustained a knee injury in the pre-season match simulation against Fremantle.
