\u201cNow, not everyone\u2019s getting out to vote,\u201d Portnoy said<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s a scary time. We need leaders to step up\u2026 Sometimes I do feel like it\u2019s my duty. I can\u2019t turn away. I feel like I could make a change. Maybe I do run in politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I don\u2019t know. It depends on the day you catch me. But let me say this, I spend a lot of my day losing my mind on what\u2019s happening right now, especially in New York.\u201d<\/p>\n

Portnoy launched Barstool Sports in 2003, and the company rose to national prominence during the 2015 \u201cDeflategate\u201d controversy involving Tom Brady. He became well known for his long-running feud with the National Football League and its commissioner, Roger Goodell, over the scandal.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a lot of people who like me in New York City. I know that I\u2019ve done a lot of good in New York City when I wasn\u2019t thinking about politics, whether it\u2019s the Barstool Fund, pizza places.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the people voting for these people who just won are like these young, white, Ivy League-ish, elitish women. It\u2019s like, who are they? Like, they will never vote for me,\u201d he continued. \u201cThey will never believe in common sense.\u201d<\/p>\n
