Boxing<\/a> Australia has plunged into turmoil after its chief executive officer quit on the eve of the Commonwealth Games<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nine.com.au can reveal Dinah Glykidis finished at Boxing Australia (BA) last Friday, amid a period rocked by concerning accusations.<\/p>\n

BA told nine.com.au that Glykidis\u2019 resignation was not sudden; rather, that she had given the federation notice and Friday, June 26 had been set as her final day.<\/p>\n

\u201cDinah has made a valuable contribution to Boxing Australia and to the continued growth and professionalism of our sport,\u201d BA president Phillip Goodes said in a statement provided to nine.com.au.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn behalf of the board and the broader boxing community, we thank Dinah for her dedication and wish her every success in her future endeavours.\u201d<\/p>\n

Glykidis said in the BA statement: \u201cIt has been an honour to work alongside our athletes, coaches, staff, volunteers, member associations and partners in supporting boxing across Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am proud of what has been achieved during my time with Boxing Australia and look forward to seeing the sport continue to grow and succeed in the years ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nine.com.au contacted Glykidis directly for comment.<\/p>\n

BA is also without a head coach and an integrity manager, and its general manager of high performance is on leave.<\/p>\n

The Glasgow Commonwealth Games will begin on July 23.<\/p>\n

Olympic boxer Marissa Williamson Pohlman launched a scathing attack on BA in an Instagram video post last Thursday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Paris Olympian clarified she would not be competing at the Commonwealth Games, contrary to media reports, and claimed that was because \u201cBoxing Australia literally ruined my life and my career\u201d.<\/p>\n

Williamson Pohlman said BA\u2019s actions were in response to speaking out against Jamie Pittman, a long-time employee of the organisation.<\/p>\n

BA provided a statement to nine.com.au in response to Williamson Pohlman\u2019s post.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoxing Australia categorically rejects Ms Williamson Pohlman\u2019s allegation that her non-selection to Boxing Australia\u2019s 2026 CGA team was a consequence of complaints made by her against Boxing Australia or its employees,\u201d BA said.<\/p>\n

On March 22, 2024, the National Sports Tribunal (NST) ruled Pittman must serve a six-month suspension for conduct described in the findings as \u201cdisgusting\u201d, \u201cshocking\u201d, \u201coffensive\u201d and \u201cinappropriate\u201d. Some of the misconduct examined in the case involved Pittman making inappropriate sexual comments.<\/p>\n

The NST heard a case fought between Pittman and the Combat Institute of Australia, of which BA is no longer a member sport. BA has operated independently from the Combat Institute of Australia since January 1, 2025.<\/p>\n

At the time of the NST hearing, Pittman was BA\u2019s head coach and a member of several of the organisation\u2019s committees.<\/p>\n

Pittman is now BA\u2019s performance pathways lead.<\/p>\n

Nine.com.au contacted Pittman for comment.<\/p>\n

BA hasn\u2019t had a head coach since the departure of Santiago Nieva, whose resignation was announced by the organisation last December.<\/p>\n

In the case between Pittman and the Combat Institute of Australia heard by the NST in 2024, Nieva submitted a statement of evidence against Pittman.<\/p>\n

BA is also without an integrity manager after the departure of Kelly Loakes, who resigned in early June.<\/p>\n

BA is in the process of hiring a new CEO after the exit of Glykidis, as well as a new head coach and integrity manager.<\/p>\n
