WARNING: Graphic details. A woman\u2019s final moments before she was mauled to death by an alligator in a Florida river have been revealed, with her boyfriend desperately wrestling the animal to try and save her.<\/p>\n

Brittany Clark, 31, was attacked by the reptile while cooling off in the Econlockhatchee River at the Little Big Econ State Forest on Sunday after a hike with her boyfriend, Chance Allison, and a friend, NBC<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the group had waded into about three feet of water at 1.30pm local time when an alligator suddenly lunged, seizing Ms Clark by her arms.<\/p>\n

A harrowing medical examiner\u2019s report released in the wake of Ms Clark\u2019s death said Mr Allison immediately sprung into action and fought to save her by pulling her arms away from the reptile\u2019s jaws while he frantically called emergency services for help.<\/p>\n

Mr Allison bravely continued to wrestle the animal as it dragged Ms Clark underwater into a \u201cdeath roll\u201d, a violent spinning manoeuvre alligators use to drown and dismember their prey.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile they were swimming an alligator grabbed (Clark) by her arm and began the \u2018death roll,\u201d the report, obtained by Daily Mail<\/a>, stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer boyfriend Chance grabbed the alligator trying to get it to release her when it took them both underwater.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the struggle, Mr Allison was able to get the reptile to release his girlfriend\u2019s arm \u201cfor a moment\u201d before the alligator bit down on her other arm.<\/p>\n

The alligator eventually let go of Ms Clark and Mr Allison pulled her to shore where he administered CPR with emergency responders on the line.<\/p>\n

\u201cChance attempted to bring them both to shore when the alligator finally let go and CPR was started on shore by her boyfriend, and 911 was called,\u201d the report continued.<\/p>\n

It is not clear in the report at what point during the incident Mr Allison dialled 911, but harrowing audio suggests he was still wrestling the animal when he made the call.<\/p>\n

Crying and screaming can be heard in the chilling recordings as Mr Allison tells the operators he was \u201cstill trying to get her arms away from the alligator\u2019s mouth\u201d.<\/p>\n

Moments later he can he heard telling the dispatcher the alligator had torn \u201cboth her arms\u201d off while her friend said one arm was \u201changing by a thread\u201d.<\/p>\n

In a frantic effort to save his girlfriend\u2019s life, Mr Allison pleaded with first responders to \u201cplease hurry… she\u2019s losing a lot of…\u201d before his voice trailed off.<\/p>\n

The operator assured him first responders were on their way to the scene and told Mr Clark \u201cYou may see a helicopter. If you see it, just try and flag it down if you can.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the desperate rescue effort and Mr Allison\u2019s heroic actions, Ms Clark suffered critical injuries and died before emergency crews were able to take her to hospital.<\/p>\n

Investigators later captured two alligators from the area, including one measuring about four metres, as they work to determine which reptile was responsible for the fatal attack, according to NBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n
