BA has come under fire recently after Australian Olympic boxer Marissa Williamson Pohlman posted a video on social media where she claimed she was “bullied” and “discriminated against”.

The 24-year-old, who was the first Indigenous female boxer to represent Australia at the Olympics in 2024, said she will not go to the Commonwealth Games because “Boxing Australia literally ruined my life and my career”.

“Bullied me, re-victimised me, discriminated against me, all for what? Speaking up against… I’m going to name him, Jamie Pittman, who still has a job working with youth and women – the women that were actually involved in his integrity matter,” she said in the video.

Pittman was involved in a 2024 sexual misconduct case that resulted in him being stood down as BA’s head coach, but he has since returned as performance pathways lead.

“Please stop using my f***ing face and my name to promote the Commonwealth Games, because I am not going – you robbed me of that opportunity,” Williamson Pohlman said.

BA rejected her claims and stated team selection had been based on performance criteria.

The organisation also acknowledged her claims about Pittman, but said allegations against him were investigated and resolved.

Glykidis’ resignation follows the decision to not have Boxing NZ’s head coach Billy Meehan travel to the Commonwealth Games amid an investigation into allegations of bullying.

A complaint about Meehan’s conduct was made more than two years ago, but 1News reported he has remained involved with the team while the Sport Integrity Commission investigates claims of bullying, favouritism and inappropriate behaviour within Boxing NZ.

A New Zealand Olympic Committee spokesperson said it would not have been appropriate to appoint Meehan to the team while the investigation was underway.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games will start on July 23 and feature 10 events, which include gymnastics, athletics, 3×3 basketball, judo, track cycling, netball, boxing, swimming, weightlifting and lawn bowls.

BA has come under fire recently after Australian Olympic boxer Marissa Williamson Pohlman posted a video on social…

[571
10968,9490,64,63,22806,21575,802,12585,108374,2685,3181,16489,5946,21695,1852,217418,29253,16371,2351,8844,43551,59645,8688,85,3018,317568,29258,3605,3205
post-771619","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-boxing","tag-10968","tag-after","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-been","tag-before","tag-boxing","tag-ceo","tag-chaos","tag-chief","tag-coach","tag-commonwealth","tag-event","tag-executive","tag-games","tag-happening","tag-head","tag-into","tag-left","tag-move","tag-nzs","tag-resignation","tag-resigns","tag-sports","tag-team","tag-thrown","tag-weeks","tag-with","tag-zealand
["GET
