{"id":774761,"date":"2026-07-02T17:47:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-02T17:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/774761\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T17:47:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T17:47:09","slug":"sharks-sign-forward-alex-barre-boulet-to-two-year-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/774761\/","title":{"rendered":"Sharks sign forward Alex Barre-Boulet To Two-Year Contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sjsharks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">San Jose Sharks<\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SanJoseSharks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">@SanJoseSharks<\/a>) General Manager\u00a0Mike Grier\u00a0announced today that the club has signed\u00a0forward\u00a0Alex Barre-Boulet\u00a0to a two-year, two-way contract.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Barre-Boulet, 29, has annually been one of the top offensive performers in the American Hockey League.\u00a0\u00a0Last season with the Colorado Eagles, he finished second in the AHL in\u00a0scoring with\u00a070 points (26 goals, 44 assists) in 70\u00a0games, and\u00a0was named as an AHL First-Team All-Star.\u00a0He also added 45 points (14 goals, 31 assists) in 52 Calder Cup Playoff games.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, he\u00a0posted\u00a012 points (five goals, seven assists) with the Eagles in the Calder Cup Playoffs.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Barre-Boulet\u00a0appeared in two games with the Colorado Avalanche, posting one assist.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlex\u2019s offensive track record speaks for\u00a0itself\u00a0and his presence provides\u00a0additional responsible veteran depth at the NHL level,\u201d said Grier.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 428 AHL games with Syracuse, Laval and Colorado, Barre-Boulet has posted 435 points (161 goals, 274 assists), along with 208 penalty minutes and a +90 rating.\u00a0He\u00a0won the Dudley &#8220;Red&#8221; Garrett Memorial Award as the AHL\u00a0Rookie of the\u00a0Year in 2018-19, was named to the AHL First All-Star Team in 2022-23 and the AHL Second All-Star Team in 2019-20, all with the Syracuse Crunch\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Barre-Boulet has played in 72 NHL games with Tampa Bay, Seattle,\u00a0Montreal\u00a0and Colorado, collecting 19 points (12 goals, seven assists).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his professional career, Barre-Boulet played in Drummondville and\u00a0Blainville-Boisbriand\u00a0in the QMJHL.
