{"id":775317,"date":"2026-07-02T23:51:19","date_gmt":"2026-07-02T23:51:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/775317\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T23:51:19","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T23:51:19","slug":"fox-family-denies-phillip-island-circuit-could-become-a-golf-course-declares-future-safe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/775317\/","title":{"rendered":"Fox family denies Phillip Island circuit could become a golf course, declares future safe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is not going anywhere despite the defection of international two-wheel racing to South Australia.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the assurance provided by the Fox family via comment made to Australian Motorcycle News.<\/p>\n<p>It follows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/iconic-circuit-designer-voices-adelaide-phillip-island-fears\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">legendary track designer Bob Barnard voicing fears about the Victorian venue\u2019s future<\/a>, including rumours that it could be turned into a golf course.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe track is definitely not for sale, and we have no interest in building a golf course on our land at Phillip Island,\u201d Linfox Australia director Andrew Fox told AMCN\u2019s Mark Bracks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNor is it on the market. It never has been. The land will definitely remain a racetrack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet me make that very, very clear on behalf of the Fox family.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/1-18-scale-1970-bathurst-500-65-ford-falcon-xw-bob-holden-model?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/CC-18844_1024x1024.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn relation to talk of a golf course, the last time that was proposed (on land adjacent to the track), the council voted against it.
