Boxing superstar Terence Crawford says Conor McGregor\u2019s claims about an alleged two-fight offer were fabricated.<\/p>\n

Conor McGregor will make his highly anticipated return to the UFC Octagon later this month against Max Holloway at UFC 329. It\u2019ll mark McGregor\u2019s first MMA appearance since injuring his leg against Dustin Poirier in their UFC 264 trilogy.<\/p>\n

Ahead of UFC 329, McGregor made headlines after claiming he was briefly in talks for a two-fight showdown<\/a> with boxing legend Terence Crawford, with one fight in MMA and one in boxing. The fight(s) never materialized, and Crawford retired following a win over Canelo Alvarez last year.<\/p>\n

McGregor says Crawford turned down upwards of $200 million to fight him in negotiations brokered by Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season. But according to Crawford, the offer was never made to him, and he says McGregor is greatly exaggerating claims about their rumored showdown.<\/p>\n

In a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show<\/a>, Crawford responded to McGregor\u2019s eye-opening comments about a recent mega-million fight offer.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was a lie, it was \u2018cap\u2019. There was no $200 million offer. Now, they asked me if I would do it, and I told them I didn\u2019t want to get kicked by Conor. I was on FaceTime, and I told him that,\u201d Crawford said of McGregor.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut they didn\u2019t say anything about $200 million for boxing, and then MMA, that was never the case. If it were said to me, I could say that there was an offer. But if nothing is per view to me, I can\u2019t say anything about numbers\u2026I would\u2019ve done it, why wouldn\u2019t I? I don\u2019t need to do it. It would\u2019ve been a good deal \u2013 but [in the past], I would\u2019ve said alright, let\u2019s do it.<\/p>\n

\u201cConor\u2019s not the best wrestler, and I\u2019m not saying I\u2019m the best wrestler either,\u201d Crawford continued. \u201cBut I know that standing up, it\u2019s only going to take one good shot and I\u2019ll put him to sleep. He\u2019s going to try to kick me, and with a takedown, we\u2019re just going to do what we do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crawford and McGregor recently traded social media barbs<\/a> after Ilia Topuria\u2019s loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250. After Topuria\u2019s defeat and recent knockout prediction about a fight with Crawford, Crawford didn\u2019t let the dethroned lightweight champion off the hook after suffering his first career defeat.<\/p>\n
