Olivia Wilde<\/a> revealed her co-star \u201csaved\u201d her life from a horrifying accident while filming 2011 Western, Cowboys and Aliens.<\/p>\n

\u201cWalton Goggins<\/a> saved my life on that movie,\u201d the 42-year-old told host Dax Shepard<\/a> on his\u00a0Armchair Expert\u00a0podcast<\/a>. \u201cI remember having my ear to the ground and… I thought, it\u2019ll be quick,\u201d she said of the near-death experience. <\/p>\n

Olivia Wilde said she “owes” her life to Walton Goggins after he saved her from a terrifying horse accident. \u00a0Amy Sussman<\/p>\n

The two were filming an action scene for Cowboys and Aliens alongside co-stars Daniel Craig<\/a> and Harrison Ford<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201c[We were] galloping like full, full, full sprint across the desert with like 40 horses behind us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got to a part where I could see ahead of us that there was a large ditch, like a six-foot ditch, and I was like, \u2018This horse is going to jump that ditch\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilde admitted they were two months into filming and so \u201cgot real cocky\u201d and \u201ccompetitive\u201d with their horse riding.<\/p>\n

The Don\u2019t Worry Darling<\/a> actress wasn\u2019t wearing a helmet at the time because it was an \u201cold-timey\u201d Western movie. <\/p>\n

She recalled the horse suddenly jumped and bucked her off \u201cin the craziest way\u201d. <\/p>\n

Wilde fell off and hit her head and her back. She said she was laying on the other side of a dirt lip, hidden from the stampede fast approaching her.<\/p>\n

Oscar winner Walton Goggins made a split second decision to shield his co-star.\u00a0Michael Loccisano<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was also a lot of dust,\u201d she remembered, revealing the ground sounded like \u201cthunder\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were coming towards me and I had the thought, it sounds so dramatic, but I thought, \u2018it\u2019ll be quick. It\u2019ll be like pulverised, applesauce. Out.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Fallout<\/a> star Walton Goggins saw what happened ahead of him and acted fast. She said in a split second, he turned his horse sideways right in front of her and let everyone \u201cbash into him\u201d instead. <\/p>\n

The rest of the cast split and rode around them with no idea of what had just happened. <\/p>\n

\u201cBut he was protecting my body on the ground, and so I owe him my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Host Dax Sheppard was mind blown hearing the story for the first time. <\/p>\n

Wilde returns to screens for upcoming comedy The Invite, where she takes on both the lead role and steps behind the camera to direct. <\/p>\n
