I know about it<\/a>,\u201d Wright said of the Jets\u2019 interception-less season, via Jack Bell of the team website. \u201cI mean, I\u2019m on social media, so I\u2019ve seen it, but try not to pay it any mind.\u201d<\/p>\nIn 2025, the Jets became the first NFL team to finish a season without an interception on defense. With that in mind, they signed Wright, whose eight takeaways last season were a league high, traded for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and drafted cornerback DeAngelo Ponds. <\/p>\n
\u201cI honestly don\u2019t think it\u2019s been brought up at all [in meetings],\u201d Wright said. \u201cI think 2025 was 2025, and I think we\u2019re trying to turn over a new leaf, so we haven\u2019t spoken about it at all.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wright played 97 percent of the Bears\u2019 defensive snaps in the 16 games he played last season. He had never played more than 27 percent of the snaps in his three seasons with the Cowboys and his one with the Vikings.<\/p>\n
Wright took advantage of the extended playing time, with 11 passes defensed, three fumble recoveries and 80 tackles in addition to his takeaways.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think just being on the field, and I think what being on the field brings in terms of confidence,\u201d Wright said. \u201cAnd then, obviously, when you make plays, it kind of helps with that as well. So, I think of just being on the field and then obviously the coach is trusting in me.<\/p>\n
