However, he&#8217;s become a very disruptive run defender and a solid late-career pass-rusher-for-hire option. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">He joined the Dallas Cowboys for 13 games last season and finished with 12 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and 22 quarterback pressures, per <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/ClowJa00.htm\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Pro Football Reference<\/a>. While he&#8217;s never reached double-digit sacks in any one season, he&#8217;s recorded at least 5.5 in each of the last three. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Even at age 33, Clowney could boost just about any defensive front as a rotational player. However, he would be a very strong fit for his former Tennessee Titans head coach, Mike Vrabel, and the New England Patriots. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The Patriots added to their pass rush by signing Dre&#8217;Mont Jones and drafting <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/25317002-nfl-draft-2026-scouting-report-illinois-edge-gabe-jacas\">Gabe Jacas<\/a>.
