West Aussies have been warned to brace themselves for heavy rain and damaging winds as a severe weather<\/a> warning has been issued for across the state.<\/p>\n

The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds and heavy rainfall on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cA cold front bringing windy conditions and triggering strong showers and thunderstorms will move through the southwest of the state on Tuesday,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

Locations across WA<\/a> which are likely to be affected include: Bunbury, Busselton, Mandurah, Manjimup, Margaret River, Moora and Perth.<\/p>\n

Localised heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding is likely affect the South West and Lower West districts from early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

BOM advised that isolated six-hourly rainfall totals between 40 and 60 mm are likely, higher totals are possible in slower-moving thunderstorms.<\/p>\n

Strong northwesterly winds bringing isolated damaging gusts of around 100 km\/h are likely along the west coast and adjacent inland areas from early Tuesday, mostly associated with fast moving lines or clusters of showers and thunderstorms. Winds are expected to ease later on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services advises that West Aussies should:<\/p>\n

If outside find safe shelter away from trees, power lines, storm water drains and streams.Close your curtains and blinds, and stay inside away from windows.Be alert and watch for hazards on the road such as fallen power lines and loose debris.Keep away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.Be careful of fallen power lines. They are dangerous and should always be treated as live.<\/p>\n
