VICTORIA – Canada West hoops fans can officially mark their calendars, as the conference has released its 2026-27 men’s and women’s basketball schedules.<\/p>\n
The Vikes\u00a0men’s and women’s basketball teams begin their 2026-27 campaign at home against the University of the Fraser Valley on Oct. 29 before a quick road trip to Trinity Western on Oct. 31. A highly anticipated Canada West men’s final rematch is set for Nov. 27, when the T-Birds come to the island to take on the Vikes. The two programs will meet again in Vancouver on Jan. 8 and 9.<\/p>\n
Both Vikes teams will once again play a 20-game regular season, with action running through Feb. 13. The Canada West postseason begins Feb. 19 and culminates in the Final Four, Feb. 26-28. \u200b<\/p>\n
The road to a national championship will lead to Halifax this season, as the Scotiabank Centre hosts both the 2027 U SPORTS Men’s and Women’s Final 8 Basketball Championships in early March. The women’s tournament will be hosted by Acadia University, while Dalhousie University will host the men’s championship.<\/p>\n
The men’s team returned to the top of the Canada West mountain last season, capturing their fourth conference title in five seasons with a win over UBC in the Canada West final.<\/p>\n
The latest championship further cemented the program’s status as one of the conference’s most impressive dynasties, while the women are looking to make a playoff push in 2027.<\/p>\n
