The first thing people notice about Holderness & Bourne is \u2026 nothing. Holderness & Bourne apparel doesn\u2019t have oversized logos. It doesn\u2019t have signature, flashy prints and the brand abstains from loud color combinations designed to make you visible from three fairways away.<\/p>\n

Honestly, it can be challenging to tell that the well-made polos, q-zips, quilted jackets and accessories are made by the Armonk, New York-based company. It typically leaves prime logo spots open for club, course and resort logos. In fact, the brand has to go out of its way to add its name or logo to the clothes worn by its ambassadors and PGA Tour winners Ben Griffin and Bud Cauley, and newly-signed Mason Howell. Holderness & Bourne operates on the belief that if something is made exceptionally well, the people who care will notice, and those are the people you want to impress.<\/p>\n

Guys who wear a lot of Holderness & Bourne tend to drive cars like a Genesis GV80<\/a>, a Lexus IS<\/a> or a Jeep Grand Wagoneer<\/a>. Whatever it is, it\u2019s probably navy or silver, the guy spent six months reading reviews on it, compared reliability scores, and watched way too many YouTube videos about it before signing the paperwork. When no one is in that car, Holderness & Bourne guys crank Morgan Wallen, sing along, and fondly recall the night they drove from Knoxville to Sweetens Cove<\/a> for an early-morning round after Tennessee beat Alabama back in 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of course these guys have custom-fit clubs, but they don\u2019t talk about them unless someone asks. They might even own a launch monitor, but don\u2019t bring it to the range when other people are around, because that could be viewed as showy. Holderness & Bourne \u00a0guys use a stand bag because they walk, and it\u2019s organized. Their golf shoes are clean, and they always post their scores. All of them.<\/p>\n

Unlike some guys who are enthralled with golf\u2019s comforts and traditions, or others who see golf as an athletic endevor, the Holderness & Bourne golfer sees golf as a craft.<\/p>\n

He appreciates details. He notices things like stitching and fabric weight. Whether a shirt drapes correctly across the shoulders and how well the collars hold their shape.<\/p>\n

When it comes to drinks, they tend to favor classics. Bourbon, neat. A gin martini (This espresso martini fade has to end soon!). Maybe a glass of Cabernet if red meat is on the dinner menu. They don\u2019t order these things because they project sophistication. After years of experimentation, they\u2019ve figured out what they like.<\/p>\n

Holderness & Bourne guys don\u2019t buy equipment because it\u2019s new. They buy it because it\u2019s better. They don\u2019t change their swing because they saw a tip on Instagram. They change it because their instructor spent 45 minutes explaining why it will make you better.<\/p>\n

Men who wear Holderness & Bourne are often more East Coast than West Coast. If they didn\u2019t graduate from an Ivy League school, then it was probably a Public Ivy like Michigan, Georgia, Texas or Florida. Maybe William & Mary.<\/p>\n

They prefer understated confidence to self-promotion. They understand the difference between expensive and valuable. And they tend to believe that the best things in life rarely need an introduction.<\/p>\n

To other golfers, wearing Holderness & Bourne signals experience. Not necessarily age, but maturity. It suggests they\u2019ve been around the game long enough to know what works and stopped worrying about what everyone else thinks.<\/p>\n

In the end, their golf fit says they value craftsmanship, consistency, and quiet confidence. They don\u2019t chase trends. Holderness & Bourne guys don\u2019t need attention. They appreciate things that are done properly and built to last.<\/p>\n
