Claims suggesting Mayweather is facing bankruptcy have become increasingly common online, prompting the 50-year-old to publicly address the speculation and defend both his finances and his standing in the sport.<\/p>\n

Speaking earlier this year during an interview with rapper Cam’ron on the Come And Talk 2 Me podcast, Mayweather dismissed suggestions that he was struggling financially and argued that the public often focuses too much on his wealth.<\/p>\n

“Nobody has taken none of my properties away from me. I still got all my houses, I still got everything. My mother, my whole family, their bills are still paid. Still pay all my employees,” Mayweather said.<\/p>\n

He also expressed frustration with the constant attention surrounding his personal finances: “The black community has been paying money for years to come see me fight\u2026 You bet it on Floyd \u2019cause I prove that I\u2019m 100% when I get in that ring\u2026\u00a0<\/p>\n

“They believe in me\u2026 And after they go home, and they got everything they won, they\u2019re praying on my downfall. \u2018We don\u2019t want to see Floyd win nothing. It\u2019s this lawsuit, it\u2019s that lawsuit.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

“One thing about me, who whoever I get involved with in far as with business, I get myself out of the situation. One thing we\u2019re not going to do is go out there and go point fingers.”<\/p>\n

The undefeated boxer then questioned why his financial situation continues to generate so much public interest.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s no different from when people get to talking about real estate,” Mayweather added. “\u2018Oh, Floyd doesn\u2019t got this and Floyd doesn\u2019t got that.\u2019 All I want is for y\u2019all to tell me what you got.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Everybody, all of y\u2019all, just tell me what y\u2019all got. Everybody always worried about what Floyd got, but what did you get?”<\/p>\n

The interview was recorded before several new legal issues emerged but has since been viewed in a different light as reports about lawsuits and unpaid obligations have continued to surface.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Questions surrounding Mayweather’s finances are not new. Reports dating back to 2017 linked him to tax obligations involving the IRS, while more recent investigations have raised fresh questions about his business dealings and financial commitments.<\/p>\n

In recent months, Mayweather has reportedly dealt with multiple legal matters, including a tax lien, a lawsuit from a private jet service provider over allegedly unpaid services, and additional civil and criminal cases.<\/p>\n

Even so, Mayweather insisted that his day-to-day life remains unaffected: “If you look, man, you just look around my team; they are still paying their bills,” he said.<\/p>\n

“And at my age, you know, at my age, what, 40? I\u2019m 49-50 years old. If I\u2019m able to just pay my mother, my mother\u2019s house is paid for. All my properties are paid for. My grandson doesn\u2019t want for anything.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m happy with that. As long as I\u2019m able to eat every day, pay my bills, and travel and do the things that I want to do, and I don\u2019t have to get up and punch a clock and work for nobody, then that\u2019s my company, right?”<\/p>\n

The conversation also turned to the current boxing landscape, where Mayweather surprised some listeners by praising Jake Paul despite their well-documented history.<\/p>\n

“I got to take my hat off to Jake Paul because I like Jake Paul\u2019s hustle, right?” Mayweather said.<\/p>\n

“All in all, Jake Paul popped that sh*t. He knows how to hustle and he knows how to get that back. So, his hustle is\u2026I mean, he is a white boy, but his hustle is\u2026 you can\u2019t knock his hustle like a black dude from the hood.”<\/p>\n

The comments stood out because of the previous tensions involving Jake and his brother, Logan Paul.<\/p>\n

Logan has long claimed that Mayweather still owes him $1.5 million stemming from their 2021 exhibition bout after alleging they had a private agreement to split certain international revenues.<\/p>\n

When Cam’ron mentioned Logan Paul’s claims during the interview, Mayweather declined to engage in the dispute, responding simply:\u00a0“I wish them nothing but the best.”<\/p>\n

Although rumors of bankruptcy continue to circulate, Mayweather has consistently denied that his finances are in jeopardy.<\/p>\n
